Attending an Awesome Dawgs group class provides your dog with valuable social skills. We encourage dogs to meet and greet the other people in class and to allow time for puppies to play together.
Once you register for our group classes, we encourage you to contact us at any time during the 6 week session with questions or concerns. We feel it is important for you to address dog-training issues as they occur rather than having to wait until your next class for resolve.
puppy class - Age 10 weeks to 6 months
Your puppy will learn the basic obedience behaviors focus, sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, loose-leash walking and come when called. They will enjoy the experience of socializing with other puppies and new people. Canine good citizen
CGC Preparation and Testing prepares dogs to take their Canine Good Citizen test. If they pass the test, they receive the CGC award from the American Kennel Club. This award (not an official title) signifies that a dog is trustworthy in public and is under his handler's control at all times. Please visit www.akc.org to learn more about the CGC test. Prior obedience training and evaluation is necessary.

Tricks, fun and games
Tricks, Fun and Games is a class which incorporates obedience skills with learning how to perform tricks such as spin, fetch, bow, shake, close the door and roll over. We play games in every class and the winners take home prizes (or eat them in class). Prior obedience training and/or evaluation is necessary.
Can You Recall?
Most dogs will only come to their handlers when they’re the only game in town. When presented with even the mildest distraction, many dogs often choose to follow their noses and their instincts rather than refusing them for the pleasure of coming to the caller. The pursuit of a scent or another living thing can lead dogs into danger. If you would like to be able to get your dog to come to you no matter what is going on around him, this class is for you. Come to understand why dogs very often ignore this basic obedience cue and learn how to develop a truly reliable recall.
Dawg Walking 101
No one enjoys walking a dog that pulls. At best, it is extremely frustrating; at worst, it can be downright dangerous for dog and handler alike. Having poor leash manners often means fewer and shorter walks for the dog, depriving him of much-needed exercise and the chance to explore. Mastering leash-walking is challenging, but not impossible. In this class you and your dog will acquire the skills necessary for leisurely strolls and power walks through the neighborhood as well as heeling in appropriate situations. Dogs will work on and off lead, beginning with few distractions and leading up to more.
